    Best place to stay in Maui

    Traveled with our two young children and had the best time! All the rooms have been updated and remodeled! The hotel staff went out of their way to ensure we had a great stay. The property is beautiful with SO many activities and things to do. The location is perfect, right next door to whaler village. We will definitely be back!

    Amazing staff, location and resort!

    The hotel is in a great location, with amazing views, amenities, and clean rooms, but the staff makes this a great place to stay. From the moment BEFORE arrival until departure, the staff exceeded our expectations. Sheryl Rarogal, the pre-arrival coordinator, was key! She is an Angel! She was very professional, responsive, informative, and delightful to work with. She was quick to respond, and our request was perfectly executed. We celebrated my husband's birthday in Maui from Alaska. Sheryl included a special touch of a “Happy Birthday” box full of Hawaiian goodies with a note to contact her if we have further questions. I can’t say enough about how talented and receptive Sheryl is. You have a great person here! We appreciate all of her hard work. The pre-arrival coordinator is vital. All in all, we received exceptional customer service throughout our stay. We traveled with a five-year-old and an eight-year-old, and they had a blast with the daily activities in the resort… Koi Fish and Flamingo Feeding - thank you to the staff who always smiled every morning as they gave the kids food to feed. We were there before 0900 for the feeding. It was the girls morning routine before hitting the pool! Hana Lei Kahimo (lei making) – Very informative and patient teacher. I forgot her name. Mario from the Ulani Niu (coconut weaving): Mario was very informative and funny. Birds – Kalako, the scarlet macaw and Keoki the cockatoo, and her friends were our girls favorite pet in the resort. Francis, Robert, and Joaquin were the bird handlers that were very informative, always smiling and greeted everyone with respect and kindness. They even offered to take photos. My girls were there every morning and in the afternoon during our 5 day stay! The pools never felt crowded. Pool F&B services were great! Great staff- very attentive! Shout out to the Housekeepers: Mary Daproza (housekeeping). She was very helpful with directions in the main area and always has a smile while sweeping the floor and greeting everyone! Janette (room #1040) was the in-room housekeeping staff for the first day. However, we opted out of housekeeping and decided to join the “Difference Maker,” we didn’t use housekeeping for the remaining of our trip. We are already planning our trip back to Westin Maui for 2026. Thank you so much.

    Great resort if in Hokupa’a, beware of freezing pools!!!

    Amazing resort, my teens loved it the most of three properties we stayed at on trip (including Hana Maui and Grand Wailea). Cool, modern decor, large comfortable room, and great location. We stayed in Hokupa’a tower, which I think does make a huge difference. Access to The Lanai was key, full breakfasts and (mostly) full dinners made it more than worth it! Plus The Lanai was an escape from otherwise hectic Ka’anapali area. On down side, pool was freezing during peak spring break. Hard to even go in pools. Food options very limited, but Whalers Village being next door made that largely non-issue.

    WONDERFUL, AMAZING, OUTSTANDING, 5-Stars!!!!!

    Amazing stay! Honestly it’s a phenomenal property for families and couples. The Westin does a really nice job of balancing the family/romantic vibe with the family and adult pool areas. We stayed for 8-nights and we got upgraded (Platinum Marriott member) to a really great room. The housekeeping staff was ON IT as we had an 18 month old, 11 year old and 13 year girls. One thing I’ll start with the Hokupa’a access to the Lanai is totally worth it. The breakfast is really good and having a place to get complimentary breakfast, snacks, drinks, bites, ice cream and just generally having a place to go to for a reset with the kids was a really nice feature. Giadee at the Lanai was AMAZING. And really the entire staff was outstanding. Our pre-arrival coordinator Valerie set up some really cute things for my daughters upon arrival (it was both of their birthdays during our stay) and she sent up a birthday cupcake on the actual day of her birthday as well. Just well done! Lahania the town is obviously still recovering but you don’t notice it at all at the Westin. The staff is so nice and it’s kind of mind-blowing considering what so many of the people working there have gone through….. And yet they are still so kind and considerate and just flat good at their jobs. You might see FEMA, Red Cross, Army Corp of Engineers employees on the property. The Westin is a place where many of those working are staying and it’s just a reminder of what the town is still going through. But it won’t affect your experience at all. The food…… guys…… it’s legit. Hale Mo’olelo (The lower pool bar) has amazing food. The Lobster Roll, Poke Bowl and Poke Nachos are LEGIT some of the best food you can find anywhere. The new Ulu Kitchen was Phenomenal. The scallops, lobster ravioli and filet mignon there are just fantastic. Also the daily sashimi that we had was outrageously good. We did the Luau. And that was a really great experience as well. It was a nice change of pace with good music and good drinks and the production team did good job of being welcoming and explaining what was happening. I’ve seen some comments about pool chairs being hard to find. We didn’t have that experience. We are Eastern Standard Time people so maybe we just got going early enough for it to not matter, but there were generally chairs available around all day. The poolside service was prompt. In the morning our 18-month old loved feeding the flamingos and fish each morning. It became a part of her routine at 9:00 each day. The walkability to Whaler’s Village is a huge plus as well. What is there to complain about? Hmm…. is the water a little chilly? It was, but I appreciated it by 1:00-2:00. I have nothing else to add. The Westin Maui was FANTASTIC. No notes!

    Umbrellas banned on windless sunny days

    Silly policies make everyone look foolish. Sitting at the pool they have BANNED umbrellas due to a “wind advisory”. Check out my pictures. Not even a breeze all day. Orwellian policies make the whole hotel look like they rely on their computers even though their own eyes and bodies tell them the weather is far from windy or even breezy. Will do a proper review later but I think management here isn’t really in charge or if they are they don’t have the wherewithal to make decisions.
