  Zoetry Let Down

  We are at the Zoetry Casa Del Mar Cabo San Lucas for a week in August 2026. One of reasons for choosing this resort was the reviews on Trip Advisor. Upon arriving at the Zoetry, the first thing we were greeted with was construction and loud noise. As it turns out, the lobby fountain was under re-construction. The person at the check-in shrugged off our concern about construction noise and said “It’s low season and it has to be done.” Immediately upon checking in, we were told that a significantly improved room was available, with the guests occupying that room checking out the same day we arrived. We were strongly encouraged to upgrade with a cost of $80/day for the upgrade. This would add an additional $560 to our room cost. Next, we were told if we attended a 90 minute sales presentation for the vacation club on Sunday morning, we would receive a $300 credit that would reduce our upgrade to only $260. Additionally, we had to sign an agreement stating that we would not enter the ocean while at the property. Apparently, the surface perceived to be too strong for the hapless tourist to enter. On Sunday morning, we were driven to the neighboring Dreams resort to attend the sales presentation. What was promised to be a 90 minute presentation ended up being more than three hours with extreme sales pressure applied to us to purchase a $8600 vacation club membership. When we told them “no thank you“ the closer applied an enormous amount of pressure to get us to sign up for the vacation club. Arriving back at the Zoetry, we found that half of the swimming pool was closed and under construction. We were told for the week we were there there would be construction on every day except Sunday from 8 AM to 3 PM. Once again, we were told “it’s low season and it has to be done.“ The Jacuzzis were closed the entire time we were there. We were told that the main restaurant “Arroyo” was closed for dinner for the duration of our visit. We were informed that we could eat in the main bar and order off the bar menu. Later, at dinner when there were very few guests, we were told that the property only had 30% occupancy due to it being low season. One of the staff members said to us “why did you come here at this time of year?“ The Zoetry is depleted as the most “spa like“ resort in the Hyatt chain. One of the features was daily yoga outside on the grass by the pool. During yoga, the landscape crew works continuously, talking and laughing amongst themselves. Additionally construction at the pool was ongoing. The Zoetry Casa del Mar is a beautiful property. For whatever reason, we did not have the.Zoetry experience. I think we are pretty sensitive people and I think we behave appropriately. We tipped everyone and we graciously thanked everyone for any service they provided. The staff, especially Gerardo in the main bar, tried hard to make our experience a happy one. The management staff, as previously mentioned, shrugged off every one of our concerns as “it’s low season and it has to be done and no apologies were offered.” After our stay, I wrote to Hyatt guest services, and guess what? They too shrugged off any concern we had saying they would pass our concerns on to the resort management.

  Great quiet getaway!

  This resort made for a very nice couples vacation. We went in late August, which is during their slow season, so the resort was very quiet with not a lot of other guests which made it superb for a quiet secluded getaway. The resort itself is quite stunning with beautiful grounds, well kept rooms, and great dining options. The menus were expensive enough that we could try many different items from the three available restaurants during our stay. The Coco Café served countless coffee and tea beverages, as well as delicious pastries all day long and was one highlight of our stay. The ocean was beautiful, and it was very enjoyable to watch the waves. The water is rough with strong rip current, so you cannot swim directly in front of the resort, which was a bit of a bummer to me. However, it is very easy to walk about 10 minutes down the beach to the spot in front of the Hilton, which is swimmable for the most part so it worked out fine for us. The fitness center was also very nice, clean, and had a nice variety of equipment. Overall, we were very glad with our selection with Zoëtry and found it perfect for a relaxing getaway with gorgeous views, delicious food, and wonderful friendly staff!

  Beauty wherever you look

  A beautiful resort. Quiet and relaxing. Food was superb. Views are stunning. Not a lot of activities. It was slow time so there may be more going on at other times of the year.

  Personalized and peaceful stay

  We traveled during low season and had the resort practically to ourselves! It is a small resort anyway, and I would expect that we would receive very personal service in any season. While the sea is not swimmable, it is an incredible shade of blue and I loved the sound of the waves and the scent of saltwater. Our room has a hot tub on the balcony, and the view was so peaceful. The food is fresh! Vegan menu options were limited, but speaking to the staff opened off-menu adaptations. Chef Lalo at Saltwater restaurant, which is literally on the beach in open air, prepared a creative three course vegan dinner for our wedding anniversary. My husband claims that it was the best restaurant experience of his life! Every staff member knew our names and preferences within a day or two. The room was kept very clean, and the housekeeper nurtured a peaceful environment by making towel sculptures of swans, leaving flower petals, and setting calming music on the entertainment system. The minibar was stocked daily with sparkling wine and other beverages, and a complementary bottle of mezcal was in the room on arrival. It was a wonderful place to celebrate and relax.

  Zoetry Casa Del Mar

  We loved our stay at Zoetry Casa Del Mar! The service was top notch, everyone was extremely friendly and accommodating. They went above and beyond to help us feel comfortable. Javier and Valeria were especially kind and more than willing to engage in conversation. The entertainment director was also very friendly. Overall the food was fantastic and the resort was clean and well kept. Would highly recommend if you’re looking for an intimate boutique style resort for your stay in Los Cabos!
