  We booked this hotel - with the thought of it being Newley renovated and close to the city centre: Positives : •The location was great - right in the heart of the city and very close walk to Amsterdam train • The room was Newley renovated however there was flaws (see negatives) The staff were very friendly - and very apologetic •The bed was very comfortable and clean • The room was quiet - although I’m not sure if this is due to people not staying in the hotel due to the building site entrance! •The air-con was nice and cool •Large television in the room •USB/USBc charging points as well as plug sockets Negatives : • On arriving the staff were very apologetic due to ongoing renovations in the hotel lobby (which was very much just a building site - with a lot of builders and health and safety hazards!!) •The room although Newley completed - the shower temperature was not working •There was an option on the shower which shot straight out and would flood the floor - and also if the shower was on too long it would also flood the bathroom The door to the bathroom did not shut • The room did smell like a painting and decorating shop- I’m guessing due to the new renovations •The hallways still felt old with older carpet and again building and construction items •The safe in the room did not work •There was no wardrobe in the room or space to hang clothes So overall - Great location (if you don’t mind being near to the lively nightlife / red district area) The staff were lovely. But it has opened too soon and there are many current flaws with the hotel and rooms It all feels rushed which brings the value of the hotel down and makes it appear cheap

  Awful. Would not return.

  Whilst the hotel staff were lovely, I would urge people not to book this hotel. We stayed here in 2018 and it was fine (basic but clean) so assumed it would be the same this time round. Originally thought we had booked a room with a window through Agoda however when we arrived we were given a room in the basement. Out first room had black marks and dirt all over the white walls and skirting and the bathroom was covered in mold. After asking to move rooms, the second room was marginally cleaner but still covered in mold with hairs in the bed. The bathroom had mold on the ceiling and in the shower. There was a fridge in the room however this didn’t work. The staff at the hotel are lovely and you receive clean towels and bedding each day however the rooms are awful and not clean at ALL. It is in dire need of a refresh and deep clean. Please be mindful of this if you book here. The location is great and was handy for our trip but I would absolutely not stay here again.

  Fantastic hotel and staff

  Location was fantastic and close to dam square and central station the atmosphere inside the hotel was very laid back and friendly and the staff weren't fantastic and even gave me advice for places to visit the deluxe twin room me and partner stayed in was very clean and nice size room will definitely be staying there again soon and will be recommending to my family and friends

  Do not set foot in this place

  By far the worst hotel we have stayed in, we booked 3 nights due to our favourite hotel not having a room on the Friday night, straight away we knew we had made a dreadful mistake, the carpet at reception had seen better days, we then went to our room 304, as we opened the door, the smell was not pleasant, there was a random fridge on the floor causing a hazard, the carpet was filthy, there were marks all over the walls, electrical socket exposed wires and then there was the toilet waste pipe which at some point had had a leak and the residue was still visible, switching on the air con made us both feel ill, the whole room was a health hazard, the mattress was straw like, but on a plus side the bedding was clean , my husband went to check if our favourite hotel had had any cancellations but it hadn't, so we stayed overnight, went to check out the next morning, reception said you are leaving of your own accord, I said no we are leaving due to the room being a health hazard, he then offered us a better room!, we declined, wrote off a few hundred euro and left, awful awful place, I have a mind to report it to Dutch tourist board

  DO NOT BOOK!!

  Just arrived, room like a prison cell, no windows, dated and grubby, asked for an upgrade. receptionist said he couldn’t move the booking! Thankfully we’re only stuck in this hovel for 2 nights. Nothing like the photos advertised, DO NOT BOOK!!!!
