Always enjoy Barcelona. Love the Mexican Restaurant! Great atmosphere and margaritas ! Gerald was a delight! Spoke very good Spanish😉

Nov 03, 2025Barcelo Aruba Review. Rooms filthy. Lobby filthy. Mold, Dust, Mildew, food terrible.
If you can stay away from this resort. Resort looks NOTHING like the online pictures. Lobby, pool, hallways, and common areas all dirty. Bedroom has mold, mildew, sticky floors, and dust / stains everywhere. When we notified front desk and asked for another room we were told nothing available. We had to make a decision and leave the hotel to go down the road to the Ritz Carlton Aruba. Barcelo is a terrible operation do not waste your time there.

Great Times in Aruba!
Be prepared to gain weight. With so many restaurants and so much to choose from, you can’t help overeating. And everywhere you go at the resort, the bar is open. Be prepared to totally enjoy yourself.

Just returned from Barcelo Aruba, this was our 1st time in Aruba. The staff were pleasant and efficient. These ladies & gentlemen work hard to provide a great experience for us. The grounds are kept clean and attractive. The beach is clean and beautiful. Food was average at buffet, often meat was overcooked. Get there early as soon as it opens for freshness. It would have been nice to have protein shakes/drinks available at breakfast and lunch buffet. They are in a vending machine in the fitness center for a fee. That mentioned, you would still find something delicious for breakfast & lunch. We made reservations for, Seafood, Mexican, Italian & Japanese, these restaurants were delicious and service was terrific. My disappointment with food is there were no late night snacks that were available other than hotdogs, cheese sandwiches, apples & bananas. There should be other options for snacking in the lobby bar area. The only other option was room service which had a fee. As mentioned in many other reviews guests get too pool & beach early and stake out their spots. Often same guests were doing that at both areas. However, we found our spots and sometimes just put our stuff on the ground and enjoyed the ocean or the pool. Our room was simple, bed was comfortable maybe ready for new mattress but still comfortable. We had room service clean up everyday for us and they did a great job. The entertainment was as expected. The elevators and quick and quiet. Not and issue for us as were were on lobby floor (#2.) We loved our location, you could walk out cross street and be in the hustle bustle and more entertainment, restaurants, and shops. We went to butterfly farm which was amazing and informative, the de palms 4 hour am snorkel cruise, visited Hyatt regency casino and shopping across the street. Don't miss out on the Butterfly Farm and De Palm 4 hr. am snorkel cruise. Wish we made time for AM island bus tour, next time! Most importantly, we have talked about returning to Aruba and to Barcelo.
