    Family vacation to barcelo maya palace

    The staff are not friendly and helpful at all we waited 4 hours for our room with two kids to be ready even after they told us the check in is at 3 The service in buffet is terrible and it smells very bad every-time we went there They gave us hard time for the dinner reservation and none of the restaurants were available we had to raise the issue that with two kids we cannot have zero reservation and after all the hustle one of the managers gave us the two booking for the restaurants otherwise we were all eating the buffet

    Lovely Resort

    While we did not get the room in the building that we had reserved initially, they moved us 3 days into our trip. The facility is beautiful and very comfortable. We did a lot more walking, as the resorts are spread out. But the walking was good for us and it was such a beautiful place to stroll along the well manicured paths. The service was excellent - everywhere. The snorkeling was nice, but I think the steps from the ocean to the pier really need to be placed better. It is very slanted inward and I cut my hand on one of the steps while pulling myself out.

    Huge Beautiful resort

    This resort is massive so you have the opportunity to stretch your legs but if you don’t want to walk there is an internal bus. You also have so many different options you don’t have to explore the resort if you don’t want to. The grounds are beautiful and very well maintained. The staff is friendly and the food is excellent.

    Zoechemy Sanchez and Baltazar Saragoza were amazing! Great experience. We had a great time at the dinner buffet. Nice resort for families.

    Great Food; Nice Beach; Courteous Staff

    Barcelo Maya is a huge resort and I think it would be great for family. The beach is very nice. You can see lots of fish from the beach by the Hotel Palace, and also enjoy very sandy/smooth beach by hotel Beach. I visited five specialty restaurants for staying for five nights. I enjoyed all of them, but Caribeno - seafood restaurant was the best. Brasserie - the French restaurant was slow to bring out food and to be seated, but their food was excellent as well. If you visit Rodizio, Brazilian stakehouse, choose the skewer option. They will bring out like 7 different meat for you. La Fuente Spenish restaurant and Marenostrum, seafood restaurant was good as well, but I liked the three from Palace more. I was there during the week, and it seemed that they didn't open Kyoto or Tokyo. Room was kept clean and mini bars stocked every day. We had two different rooms, and one room with 4 people was humid, even with A/C and the ceiling fan on. (not hot; it was cool but humid - the floor was a little slippery time to time.) Almost all the staff you see were very nice and courteous. We all enjoyed the stay very much, and will probably come back.
